Department of Defense Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Program Funding Opportunities for Fiscal Year 2007
Fiscal Year 2007 (FY07) funds include $5.0 million for the Department of Defense Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Program (ALSRP) to promote innovative research that advances the discovery and development of therapeutics for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) -- also called 'Lou Gehrig's disease -- and ultimately leads to improved treatment outcomes. This program is administered by the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).
To meet the Program goals, an advisory group of scientists, clinicians, and family members of individual with ALS was held on September 18, 2007. This group comprises the Integration Panel for the FY2007 ALSRP. They set the initial vision for the program and will also participate in the second level of review of proposals early next year. Members of the 2007 ALSRP Integration Panel include:
