Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program
Funding Opportunities for Fiscal Year 2007
The Fiscal Year 2007 (FY07) Defense Appropriations Act provides $80 million to the Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) to support innovative and multidisciplinary research to eliminate prostate cancer. This program is administered by the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command through the Office of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).
FY07 PCRP Program Announcements for the following funding mechanisms are expected to be released in mid to late March 2007:
- Idea Development Awards
- Synergistic Idea Development Awards (New)
- New Investigator Awards
- Laboratory - Clinic Transition Awards (New)
- Prostate Cancer Training Awards
- Physician Research Training Awards
- Collaborative Undergraduate Historically Black Colleges and Universities Student Summer Training Awards
- Clinical Trial Awards
Detailed descriptions of each of these mechanisms, evaluation criteria, submission requirements, and deadlines may be obtained in the FY07 PCRP Program Announcements. Each Program Announcement will be available electronically for downloading from the Grants.gov website (https://www.grants.gov) and the CDMRP website (https://cdmrp.army.mil) upon its release in March 2007.

Beginning this year, full proposals requesting funding from the CDMRP will be submitted through the Federal Government's single entry portal, Grants.gov, in compliance with Public Law 106-107. Individual Program Announcements and required forms will also be found on this website. A Pre-Application will be required of all proposals, to be submitted through the CDMRP eReceipt website, https://cdmrp.org.
